Senate Flounders on Health Care

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

As America awaits the coming of a newborn infant this Christmas, our representatives in Washington DC are scrambling to get the vote on the Senate version of the health care bill done before the Christmas recess so that a bill will be ready for Obama to sign. Of course the bill will not be perfect. The Senate will again betray the American people, this time by failing to include adequate safeguards to protect the lives of unborn American children by surreptitiously and sinisterly diverting public funds to private insurers and other payees that promote abortion. Some government this is.

A Reconstituted Reagan Coalition?

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

The Reagan presidency reconciled three elements that often seemed opposed to each other. These were the social, fiscal and defense conservatives respectively.

Today's world is much different than that of 1980 when Reagan began making his stump speeches across the country igniting a wave of prairie fires caused by discontent with big government. But the principles are the same. Limited government and lower taxes, keeping the federal government at bay.

Today there is no central national leader to lead the charge. Instead, the wave of indignation is occurring spontaneously at tea parties and town hall meetings nationwide. The lesson of November 3 is that Americans are reasserting their God given liberty which transcends political categories. Either the politicians will get on board, or they will face extinction in the upcoming elections.

Those who view Doug Hoffman's showing in New York's 23rd as a defeat completely miss the point of the reawakening process. As in the days of Ronald Reagan, this is all about redistribution, but not as Obama's supporters envision.

Both Wars Stink

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

While the MSM has predictably jumped on the Obama bandwagon in distinguishing between the Iraq war as a war of choice as opposed to the Afghanistan war of necessity, the fact remains that both wars together have taken a huge toll in terms of American lives, economic resources, and world recognition. The criticism leveled against Bush 43 for leading American forces into Iraq is not altogether justified. There had to be some strong military response after 9/11. To blame everything on Al Qaeda, and the Afghan Taliban for harboring Al Qaeda, seems simplistic at best. Saddam's regime was far more brutal and dictatorial than that of the Taliban, and was responsible for some of the terrorist violence preceding 9/11.

Unfortunately, America's war crimes, particularly those directed against detainees many of whom were demonstrably innocent, more than offset any rational justification for war at this point. Capitalism breeds vindictiveness. The legitimate goal of interrogation gave way to the temptation to exact vengeance and to dehumanize and ridicule.

Obama's exit strategy is the beginning of our economic recovery. Iraq and Afghanistan will never become like us. The sooner we realize this, the better.

Let's Have Some Real Health Care Reform

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

The Obamaites in the media continue to repeat the mantra that the Obamacare proposal will not force American taxpayers to pay for abortions. Yet it was the same Obama administration that scuttled the Mexico City Policy so that they could fund abortions abroad with our tax dollars. How can any intelligent American believe that this plan drummed up by Rahm Emanuel will not lead to government coercion to kill the terminally ill and elderly among us? Rahm's brother Ezekiel, chairman of the department of bioethics at the National Institute of Health, has himself made the point that the bill will use a person's age as a basis for denial of health care benefits because older Americans theoretically will have had greater access to health care when they were younger and able to work. Rahm again is only looking out for Israel where abortion is against the law, and he is trying to weaken America so that Israel will not be left out in the cold after decades of dependency on America.

This health care plan amounts to treason by Obama and the liberals in Congress. America cannot wait until the killing of our senior citizens, and citizens with serious disabilities, becomes commonplace. We must act now to bring the traitorous scoundrels to justice. America must act independently in order to promote good in the world. This isn't just about grandma anymore. It is an attack against America.

It's not about Fairness, Folks!

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

Back in the days of the Reagan Revolution, there used to be an inside joke among the intellectual elite of Los Angeles mostly comprised of ex-drunks, that if you want "fair", go to Pomona, which is in reference to an annual event held every year on the far east side of the County. Regardless of the saying's dubious origin, there is a lot of wisdom and truth in that statement.

Today in America, the Affirmative Action Kid Barry H. Obama has appointed the Affirmative Action poster baby Sonia Sotomayor to a position on the US Supreme Court.

America has legalized abortion and affirmative action basically as a way to keep the Rockefeller and Bush dynasties and their greedy elite ilk in power. A couple of centuries ago, many had to endure the indignities of slavery for the same reason. This is also the reason for a barrage of dumbed down, coarse and degrading jokes on our broadcast networks. As unjust as it may be, we don't get "fair" in this life except once a year in places sponsored by the 4H clubs of America.

The law is never as clear cut as some would expect. There are those particularly in the media who find it incredible that two different judges would reach different conclusions, both following the same laws, because of racial or ethnic differences. These are the utopioans who think that legal problems are the same as mathematical equations in which there is only one right answer. Sadly for them, life is not so simple. If that were the case, there would be no need for judges. Everything could be done by computer.

Then there are those, usually among minorities and others who have chosen to live on the outskirts of civil society, who are obsessed with predictability in legal decisions. Included here are the lawyers and judges who uphold precedent above common sense. They want to know in advance what the outcome will be so that they can work the system by exploiting the inevitable crises having no loyalty to anyone but themselves.

The Christian ideal is to accept government in whatever imperfect form it may take, and work to bring about justice. We never arrive at this goal however in this world.

Bristol Palin a New Rising Star

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

Bristol Palin could become the leading icon of the emerging Pro-Life Majority in America. Her outspokenness on the sensitive political issues of teen pregnancy and chastity and abstinence awareness is exactly what our country needs at this time.

In order to move forward as a nation, America will have to overcome the inertia of decades of reproductive tyranny from those who brought us Planned Parenthood and NARAL. America is sick of this doublespeak. As a single mom, Palin brings a breadth of fresh air to the national debate.

President Obama could go a long way in restoring confidence if he were to appoint someone to the Supreme Court who would pursue the work of holding pro-choice politicians and judges to account legally for their wrongdoing. Make no mistake about it. Prosecutions for their crimes against humanity are in order and will proceed at some future date. The sooner this happens, the better it will be for the recovery by getting this difficult business out of the way. America cannot let these political junkies off the hook until the day that abortion is outlawed in America.

Bristol belongs by accident to the generation of Americans who have suffered most from legalized abortion. America needs her example and leadership to right this terrible wrong.

Jewish IQ and the Limitations on Scientific Research

http://westernperspective.blogspot.com/

An article on the front page of yesterday's Los Angeles Times highlights recent studies done by Gregorgy Cochran and Henry Harpending on the correlation between childhood neurological disorders and high IQ levels among Ashkenazi Jews.  The basic premise of their hypothesis first published in 2005 is that certain mutations affecting sphingolipids, the fat molecules that transmit nerve signals, are the cause of the neurological disorders when inherited from both parents together, and also have a heterozygote advantage when transmitted by only one of the parents.  Their findings are partly based on the improbability of all four childhood neurological disorders common within the Ashkenzai Jewish population occurring randomly in a population of that size.  The heterozygote advantage is analogous to the genes causing sickle cell anemia among persons of African descent.  The negative effects occur only upon transmission of the genetic code by both parents together, and when transmitted by only one parent the positive effect is a higher resistance to malaria.  The hypothesis goes on to state that the genetic mutation was passed down through succeeding generations because the individuals with greater intelligence levels were more successful and had more children as compared with the population as a whole.

Carrying this back into prehistory,  one wonders whether the mutation occurred within a population of Central Asia among which there were converts to Judaism, insofar as the phenomena of higher incidence of childhood neurological disorders coupled with higher intelligence levels is not found among the Sephardic Jews of North Africa, Spain and Portugal, and their descendants among the diaspora.

This hypothesis could easily be tested by checking to see whether the genetic characteristics associated with the sphingolipid mutations are present in Ashkenazim Jewish children who have higher IQ levels, and absent in their siblings with relatively lower IQ levels.  One objection to this methodology is that taking IQ tests for this purpose is not a legitimate object for scientific exploration.

If this be the case, shouldn't we also ask the question of whether experimentation on live human embryos, which is unethical because it kills living human beings, is also outside the realm of legitimate scientific inquiry?

In this context, it is somewhat ironic and puzzling that President Obama has quoted the Hippocratic Oath pledge to "first do no harm" in relation to the state of the national economy, while himself being a staunch supporter of so'called "abortion rights" and embryonic stem cell research.
